Good News: Anonymous Stranger Returns Lost Wallet
Imagine you are checking out at your local store, and you go into your purse or pocket to pull out your wallet, and it isn't there. Anxiety and thoughts course through your mind. Where is my wallet? Did I drop it? What am I going to do? I have to replace my driver’s license, credit cards. How long will that take? This happened to Debra Crosby, a middle school science teacher and resident of Jacksonville, Florida recently. She didn't realize that she had dropped her wallet in the parking lot on her way into the store. As Debra was checking out at her local Walmart and found that her wallet was not in her purse, she thought of all the items in her wallet that she would have to replace: her driver's license, military ID, etc.
During her 20-minute drive back to her home, Debra received an alert from her Ring doorbell camera. The video showed a visitor who Debra now calls her "guardian angel" - a man who said that he had found her wallet in the Walmart parking lot.
"Hey, how you doing? I found your wallet at Walmart," the man said. After a moment he said he would leave Debra's wallet near some Amazon boxes. Debra found her wallet safely nestled near the boxes, containing all of her valuables.
Debra thought, "he could have turned around at any time. He concealed it, gave me a message of where he found it, and I thought, that is a lot of above and beyond."
The anonymous stranger has not been identified. But his act of kindness and honesty will always be remembered by Debra. "If he is watching this, I want him to know that he makes me so proud," Crosby said. "I have three sons of my own and I would hope that they do the exact same thing."
